Book Week

This week is Book Week. Our theme was Book Safari, so we all made masks to look like jungle animals. We paraded around our playground and showed everyone the wild side of our personalities. We had to be careful as our teachers dressed up like the hunters who came looking for us. I wonder if you can recognise us under our masks?

Thanks Mrs Sharpley.

Keegan knows all about what teachers do to help the community. That's because both his mum and dad are teachers. Mrs Sharpley spoke to us about the many things teachers do apart from teaching. I wonder who wants to be a teacher when they grow up?

Firefighters Visit

The firefighters from Maroubra Fire Station came to visit us at school. We were so excited to see the fire engine in our playground and hear the siren roar! The firefighters spoke to us about what they did and showed us the equipment they used to help put out fires. We got to go inside the fire engine and even got to try the hose! We had so much fun. What did you learn from their visit?

Dr Dan White's Visit.

Dr Dan White, Director of Catholic Education, came to visit our class today. He came with our friend Ms Brown from the CEO. They spoke to us as we worked collaboratively in our learning groups. They were both proud of the way we worked together and helped each other to learn. Dr White asked us lots of questions and encouraged us to think deeply. What did Dr White talk to you about?

Cafe OLA

A big thank you to Lili's mum who brought us all a hot chocolate and spoke to us about her busy job. Being a barista is hardwork. Lili's mum, Maria, works long hours and doesn't get many days off work and she makes yummy hot chocolates! Thanks Maria.

Generalisations.

Year Two we have been learning about how to write generalisations. In your learning groups write some generalisations about MOTHERS and post them on this blog. Don't tell your mums that we have been spying on them at home!!!!!
